Frequently Asked
Questions
Why
is E-Z Stone better than paint?
Because, unlike paint, it is made out of a strong stone
coating that, if applied properly,
will not flake or peel.
Will chemicals, oil or gasoline damage the surface?
E-Z Stone will resist most household chemicals, oil, gasoline
and de-icing salts.
Prompt clean-up required.
What can
I do to make it last longer on outdoor applications?
We recommend re-sealing driveways or heavy traffic areas
every two years.
In winter use plastic shovel when removing snow.
Can I change the colour of
the Stone Coat?
You can intermix the core colours or tint the primer.
Do not add pigment to the
Stone Coat. The primer can be tinted to achieve a grout effect.
How thick
can I apply the Stone Coat?
1.6mm to 3mm (1/16” to 1/8”) should be ideal;
large cracks and depressions should
be filled and cured prior to application of primer. Two
coats of the Stone Coat at
1.6mm (1/16”) each are recommended.
Can I use
E-Z Stone on countertops?
E-Z Stone can be applied to a variety of countertops. We
do not recommend that it be applied to kitchen countertops
or food preparation areas.
Note: If
E-Z Stone is to be applied to a kitchen countertop or food
preparation area you should
seal the stone coating with E-Z Stone Countertop Coating. This
2 part Clear epoxy coating meets Canadian Food Inspection Agency
requirements and should be used in place of the E-Z Stone Sealer
when sealing kitchen countertops or food preparation areas.
Will E-Z
Stone last a long time?
With proper application and maintenance E-Z Stone
will provide years of lasting
beauty.
What shall
I do with the floor or surface hairline cracks?
The Prime Coat, when applied properly on sound
surfaces, will fill up the hairline
cracks, providing a smooth surface for the E-Z Stone
Coating.
When is the
best time to remove the tape used for creating patterns?
We recommend waiting until the coating has dried
- approximately 24 hours.
What should I use to clean
the E-Z Stone Coating surface?
After sweeping the dirt you may use a wet mop or, for accumulated
dirt a mild detergent
followed by a spray from a garden hose. Power washers and wet
vacuum
cleaners are very effective.
How long
will the curing time take?
While the average time is 24 hours, weather conditions
can influence it. Cool and
damp weather can extend the curing time. Areas lacking proper
ventilation can also
extend the curing time.
Is the EZ
Stone Protective Sealer suitable for use on other surfaces?
E-Z Stone Protective Sealer can be used on concrete
and paving stones, indoors
and outdoors. Can E-Z Stone
be repaired?
E-Z Stone can be easily repaired by applying the Stone
Coating to the damaged
area. Once the Stone Coating has cured, apply a coat
of Protective Sealer. |
