Add Stone Mason Pool Cement to 1 qt (1 l) of water slowly while
mixing and bring to a brushable consistency. Let mixture stand for
10 to 15 minutes, then retemper, add more water if needed to bring
mixture a proper consistency for either brush or spray application.
Use only clean water for mixing. To maximize the strength and performance
of the finish and to increase adhesion (especially recommended when
applying to smooth dense surfaces) use one part of Stone Mason Acryli-Bond
to three parts water as the mixing liquid.
All surfaces should be sound and free of oil, grease, loose mortar,
deteriorated paint, dust and dirt. Repair all cracks and holes with
stone Mason Instant Patching Cement or Stone Mason Waterstop. For
moving cracks use a suitable sealant and follow manufacturer's instructions.
Immediately prior to application all surfaces must be thoroughly
dampened, but no puddles.
Apply using a uniform coat by brush or spray on already dampened
surfaces. Two coats are recommended: the first coat should be brushed
into the surface with a fibre brush to ensure complete sealing of
the pores; a second coat may be applied by regular brush or power
spray. Allow 6 to 8 hours between coats.
Allow 7 days to cure before filling pool.
50 lbs (22.7 kg) will cover 750 to 1000 sq. feet (70 to 93 m2) depending
on the porosity of the surface.
Do not apply to frozen or frost-filled surfaces. Do not apply when
temperature is or will fall below 40°F (5°C) in the next
24 hours. Do not apply if rain is forecast within 24 hours.
Avoid creating and prolonged breathing of dust. Use with adequate
ventilation. Avoid skin & eye contact. May cause eye injury.
If product gets into eyes, flush repeatedly with water & seek
medical attention promptly. If contact occurs, wash exposed skin
with water. Protective clothing & eyewear should be worn.
- Avoid applying in hot, windy, dry conditions or direct sunlight.
- Two coats are recommended for color uniformity and maximum
performance.
- If product starts to harden in the pail, discard. Do not add
more water; but start a fresh batch.
- To reduce color variations, any patches should be initially
covered with Swimming Pool Waterproof Cement while still green
(not dried).
